Omar Mehanna is an award-winning senior executive and board member with over 25 years of regional and international experience across private markets investing, capital formation and investment banking. His career spans leadership roles at Lunate, ADQ and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, alongside senior investment banking positions at HSBC and National Bank of Abu Dhabi — giving him a rare combination of alternative markets investing, capital raising and strategic advisory experience across regional and international institutions.
Across these roles, he has led landmark investments and M&A transactions, complemented by capital formation and platform build-outs experience, with particular focus in private equity, growth and venture capital and a deep knowledge of AI and fintech. He also brings listed as well as private late stage and VC board and audit committee experience, including Abu Qir, SODIC, Amoun Pharmaceuticals, Peekabox and others.
He is a UK qualified Chartered Accountant from PwC London and holds a BSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from London School of Economics. A lifelong learner, he has an avid interest in AI having completed a MSc thesis and Diploma in AI as well as designated MIT and Oxford University Executive Education courses.
